I'm standing for election!

I'm standing for the City Council in East Chesterton this May, and we're having a big campaigning push this Saturday 3rd March. If you're even vaguely Lib Dem or just think I'm excellent (!) please come and join me from 10am or 2pm at 58 Union Lane Cambridge!
You don't have to say you're a Lib Dem (well, unless you want to) and every little bit of effort you can spare will help!
Things I have cared about recently in East Chesterton:
* Extra security for council housing
* Folk becoming homeless :-(
* Bad proposed and real advisory cycle lanes
* Verge parking
* Dog poo bins (we got an extra one allocated!)
* Cycle-blocking bollards and lack of drop kerbs.
* Level Crossing barrier down time
* Making sure the Chesterton-Abbey bridge goes ahead
* Crime and speeding on Fen Road
* Electric car charging points
* Finding out if folk want residents' parking schemes
(Not exhaustive - just a selection of things that come to mind. Do ask me for my opinion on other things!)
If you've never spoken to folk on the doorstep we can lead you into it gently. We use mobile phones which tell you what sort of things to say and where to go. (Kind of like Pokemon but with voters.) People are generally really lovely and pleased to hear from us.
If you're less mobile you may still be able to help; We'll need someone to mind things while we're out and to direct any stragglers, and there are voters we want to phone.
If you really can't face talking to people, there's also stuff to deliver :-)
Any questions just ask! (And if you RSVP we'll know to expect you!)
